Expodireto Cotrijal closes with record business
A total of 263 thousand people visited Expodireto this year, 3% higher than in 2020. Total business volume is estimated at R$4,9 billion, an increase of 87% compared to the last edition
Always keeping an eye on market trends and focused on caring for the environment, Cooperativa Central Aurora Alimentos (Aurora Coop) started the year with an investment that brings innovation and sustainability to the logistics process. From 2022, Aurora Coop includes the use of electric vehicles in its refrigerated product delivery fleet.
The initiative emerged as part of Aurora Coop's Innovation projects and was implemented by the Logistics area, due to the insecurity of those operating with diesel vehicles due to increases in the cost of a liter of fuel, combined with concerns about environmental pollution. environment and global warming.
In accordance with the cooperative's sustainable values, the vehicles comply with environmental legislation, minimize noise pollution, allowing use at alternative times, and generate less vibration and internal noise, which brings more work comfort to drivers.
The projection for the coming years is to use 45 electric vehicles, distributed throughout Brazil. The first vehicle is already making deliveries in Greater São Paulo/SP and the second is expected to operate in the metropolitan region of Porto Alegre/RS. The trucks are a VUC model (urban cargo vehicle), suitable for use in urban areas, to handle retail deliveries that make more than 600 deliveries per month. In addition to electric propulsion, they also have a refrigerated trunk with 100% electric equipment.
Replacing a diesel-powered Urban Cargo Vehicle (VUC) with an electric one stops emitting 9.000 kg of carbon monoxide monthly, which is equivalent to planting 65 trees to neutralize its emissions.
The project reinforces Aurora Coop's commitment to innovating and investing more and more in sustainability. In addition to following new global trends, electric vehicles are the first step towards the future, positively impacting society, with the use of clean energy sources.
