Anvisa

Anvisa excluded, in the last four years, 70 monographs from the list of active ingredients of pesticides allowed in the country. The measure is the result of the Agency's work to review the list, which began in 2019.

The 70 excluded monographs did not have products with active registration at the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (Mapa), the body responsible for registering pesticides. Updating the list provides more transparency and clarity regarding the pesticides that are actually available for use in Brazil.

With their exclusion from the list, these ingredients are no longer authorized for use in the country.

Anvisa is responsible for publishing monographs of active ingredients permitted for use in pesticides in the country. The monographs, in addition to identifying the product, define the parameters permitted for use with safety for human and worker health, in order to minimize potential risks.

The lists of monographs authorized and excluded by Anvisa can be consulted here.
