El Niño already affects climate in corn-producing areas
In Paraná, the impact of the climate phenomenon could affect productivity in the eastern and central regions of the state
The National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) approved toxicological assessment acts for the purpose of registering several Syngenta trademarks. All with the active ingredient isocicloseram, which received the trademark plinazolin from the company.
The commercialization of pesticides also depends on registration with the Ministry of Agriculture.

Emamectin benzoate: (emamectin benzoate; CAS 155569-91-8) is an insecticide that acts to control lepidopteran larvae (caterpillars). Emamectin is a derivative of abamectin, a 16-membered macrocyclic lactone produced by fermentation of soil actinomycetes Streptomyces avermitilis. It is generally prepared as a salt with benzoic acid (emamectin benzoate). The substance acts specifically on chlorine channels controlled by the neurotransmitter glutamate, a fundamental chemical element in the transmission of signals in the insect nervous system. Emamectin, the main component of emamectin benzoate, binds to these channels, causing an increase in the release of chlorine ions. This excessive influx of chlorine causes hyperpolarization of neurons, which interferes with the insect's ability to control the transmission of electrical signals through its nervous system. As a result, insects exposed to emamectin benzoate suffer from paralysis and die quickly. The product was patented in 2001 and developed as a pesticide by Merck & Co.
Lambda-cyhalothrin (lambda-cyhalothrin, CAS 91465-08-6) is a pyrethroid insecticide that allows the control of a wide variety of pests. Like other pyrethroids, it imitates the properties of natural pyrethrins. The compound was developed in the 1970s and commercially released in 1985. Lambda-cyhalothrin acts on the nervous system of insects. Interfering with the activity of sodium channels in nerve cells. These channels are responsible for generating and conducting electrical impulses that allow communication between nerve cells. In normal functioning, after an electrical impulse, the sodium channels close quickly, restricting the entry of sodium ions into the nerve cell and allowing the cell to "reset" and prepare for the next impulse. However, when lambda-cyhalothrin binds to these sodium channels, they fail to close properly. As a result, sodium ions continue to enter the nerve cell, leading to overexcitation of the insect's nervous system. This can lead to paralysis and eventually death.
