Data consolidated by Albaugh's marketing area showed that the multi-site fungicide Reconil, distributed by the company, was applied to an area of more than 1 million hectares in the last harvest (2019-20). For the next cycle, 2020-2021, Albaugh projects a new increase in demand for the product. According to company estimates, Reconil tends to reach the mark of 4 million hectares of treated crops. The product is indicated for the prevention of soybean rust and other diseases resistant to site-specific fungicides.
According to Albaugh, the optimistic expectation regarding the fungicide's performance in the harvest is linked to the good results delivered to soybean farmers since the product's launch, around two years ago. Recently, the company reported, Reconil also stood out among the products analyzed in the so-called Embrapa Network Trial – Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (2019-20 harvest).
“The integration of copper into the management of rust and end-of-cycle diseases mitigates the resistance process to specific fungicides and improves soybean production results”, summarizes José Geraldo Martins dos Santos, marketing director at Albaugh.
“In studies involving Reconil led by Albaugh and other independent consultants, the fungicide demonstrated performance in joint application with site-specific fungicides, providing control and productivity rates such that allow us to attest to the delivery of the best cost-benefit ratio to the producer.”
The president of Albaugh Brasil, Cesar Rojas, states that the company continues to invest significant sums in the development of Reconil, given the high potential revealed by the product to deliver more value to soybean farmers. “This is a high quality post-patent product. Our soybean portfolio today includes a differentiated fungicide, resulting from Albaugh’s vocation for producing and selling first-rate post-patent products.”
