Agrocete has embarked on a new strategic cycle focused on innovation, sustainability and expansion in the bioinputs market. The company announced an investment of R$11 million in the construction of a plant dedicated to the production of biodefensives in Ponta Grossa (PR). The new unit expands the company’s capacity to supply biological solutions to the agricultural market.

The move marks the 45th anniversary of the Brazilian multinational, which specializes in plant physiology and nutrition, application technology and bioinputs. The company also intends to invest 5% of its annual revenue in research and development. The goal is to launch eight new biological products by 2027, focusing on pest and disease control, growth promotion, nitrogen fixation and nutrient solubilization.

The goals were presented during the 2025 Strategic Alignment Week, in April, at the company's headquarters. The meeting brought together 110 employees from Brazil and other countries in the Americas where Agrocete operates. The program included training, technical presentations and management training.

According to director Andrea de Figueiredo Giroldo, the new plant reinforces the company's commitment to technology, sustainability and people. Agrocete also highlights that 76% of its revenue in Brazil in 2024 came from sustainable products, including bioinputs and solutions formulated with organic raw materials.

The biological sector continues to grow. In the last harvest, Brazil generated R$5,7 billion in these technologies, covering 156 million hectares treated. ANPII Bio expects the market to grow 60% by 2030, exceeding R$9 billion.

The Ponta Grossa unit already uses 100% renewable energy and plans to reduce CO82 emissions by 2 tons per year. The plant has its own effluent treatment plant and measures to conserve natural resources.
