Brazilian agribusiness delivered its position for COP30 to authorities and sector leaders during the 24th Brazilian Agribusiness Congress (CBA), organized by the Brazilian Agribusiness Association (Abag), in partnership with B3 - the Brazilian stock exchange, which brought together 800 in-person participants from 245 different companies and watched by more than 3000 people via online transmission.

The document "Agribusiness in the Face of Climate Change" highlights how agriculture can be an agent of transformation within the climate change adaptation and mitigation agenda, by highlighting practices that contribute to reducing carbon emissions and promoting the resilience of production systems in the face of climate impacts.

By reiterating the role of agriculture as part of the solution to these challenges and Brazil's leading role, the statement points to ways to unlock financing aimed at expanding solutions applied in sustainable agriculture, driving innovation and the use of new technologies that promote environmental protection and conservation.

Another vital point in the COP30 discussions is the relationship between agriculture and the carbon market. The document presents how the sector can effectively integrate into the carbon credit economy, contributing to the transition to a more sustainable economy.

The positioning was supported by contributions from representatives of more than 80 organizations - government, companies, industry bodies, academics, scientists and researchers - who participated in the round tables held during the Forum "Towards COP30: Agribusiness and Climate Change", held in April by Abag.

The material was prepared by renowned experts: Carlos Cerri, director of CCarbon/USP; Eduardo Bastos, Executive Director of IEAG; Marcelo Morandi, head of International Relations at Embrapa; Natascha Trennepohl, partner at Carbonn Nature; Renato Rodrigues, head of Agribusiness at TerraDot; and Rodrigo Lima, general director of Agroicone, who served as mentors for the Forum's debates.
