On Wednesday (13/04), the ordinances of No. 15 to 30, which bring the Agricultural Climate Risk Zoning (Zarc), crop year 2022/2022, for the cultivation of rainfed rice; and the ordinances No. 31 to 50, for peanuts.
Rice planting can be done in all regions of Brazil, in varying climatic conditions. The cereal requires soil moisture and develops normally when subjected to long periods of light and adequate temperatures, which vary between 20°C and 35°C to obtain good development. The agroclimatic model applied to Zarc's study allowed the identification of more favorable planting dates, by risk levels, based on thermal and water analyses.
The peanut tree develops better, with higher productivity, in hot climates. Temperatures of 30°C or slightly higher are most beneficial for germination, early plant development and oil formation. Cultivation is not recommended for very humid regions or with rainy periods, which promote the emergence of diseases, in addition to damaging the harvest and the quality of the product.
Farmers who follow Zarc's recommendations are less likely to be impacted by climate risks and may benefit from the Agricultural Activity Guarantee Program (Proagro) and the Rural Insurance Premium Subsidy Program (PSR). Many financial agents only allow access to rural credit for crops in zoned areas and for the planting of cultivars indicated in the zoning ordinances, for example, the recommendations for planting rice and cultivating peanuts.
Right Planting App
Rural producers and other agribusiness agents can access Zarc's official information via tablets and smartphones in a more practical way, facilitating guidance on the Federal Government's agricultural policy programs. The Zarc Plantio Certo mobile application, developed by Embrapa Agricultura Digital (Campinas/SP), is available in application stores: iOS e Android
Zarc results can also be consulted and downloaded through the platform “Risk Indication Panel”.
