Law No. 13.639, of 26/3/2018, created the Federal Council of Industrial Technicians, the Federal Council of Agricultural Technicians, the Regional Councils of Industrial Technicians and the Regional Councils of Agricultural Technicians, separating these professionals from the Regional Engineering Councils, Architecture and Agronomy (CREAs).

Based on Law No. 13.639, of 2018, the Federal Council of Engineering and Agronomy (Confea) established that the connection of mid-level professionals to CREAs would end on 17/2/2020.

In view of this, so that agricultural technicians are not prevented from providing assistance to producers who want to borrow resources from the national rural credit system and, in this way, these operations are not rendered unfeasible, with negative consequences for the current harvest, the National Monetary Council (CMN) approved changes to the Rural Credit Manual (MCR) to mention the Federal or Regional Council of Agricultural Technicians among the councils whose members are qualified to provide this service.

It is worth highlighting that agricultural technicians already provided technical assistance services in rural credit operations.
