This past Tuesday (23), the testing program for the Pelicano spraying drone, from Skydrones, continued together with Schroder Consultoria. For the first time, researchers evaluated a real application of glyphosate herbicide, in an agricultural area at Granjas Rechsteiner, a traditional rice and soy producer in the municipality of Pelotas, RS.

The flights were accompanied by agronomists Felipe and Gustavo Rechsteiner, as well as consultants Eugênio Schroder and Guilherme Reinhardt and pilot Rafael Proto.

Felipe commented on the feasibility of specific applications in his soybean and rice crops, to control escaping weeds, as well as, adequately treating areas of the crop with obstacles that limit other types of applications.

The Schroder Consultoria team has been evaluating Pelicano since 2016, carrying out laboratory and field tests. Preliminary results indicate the possibility of treating one hectare at each takeoff, with 10 liters of spray, in 10 to 15 minutes.
