The Mato Grosso Agricultural Defense Institute (Indea-MT) published a new Normative Instruction (IN) that provides for the rules for the use of pesticides, environmental control products and the like in productive crops in the State.

IN nº 002/2024 brings as a novelty the possibility of issuing Complementary Agricultural Recipes, allowing the change of the technical recommendation when there are changes in the technical parameters that support the original recipe or when the harvest has taken place without the use of the purchased product or part of it .

“In practice, if the rural producer has purchased pesticides for soybean cultivation, but has leftover registered products that can be used to protect other crops, such as corn or cotton, for example, a legally qualified professional will be able to issue a complementary agronomic recipe , and this change must be informed to Indea-MT. Until before this regulation, this was not allowed”, comments Indea’s technical director, Renan Tomazele.

He also adds that Complementary Agricultural Recipes must be registered in the Plant Defense System (Sisdev), maintaining traceability of the use of pesticides, environmental control products and the like.

IN reiterates that pesticides, environmental control products and the like can only be sold to end users registered with Indea and upon presentation of an agronomic recipe, issued by a legally qualified professional, and can only be used in accordance with the recipe's recommendations, respecting the minimum distances provided for in the legislation, and when the application conditions do not imply the occurrence of drift in non-target areas, watercourses, people, schools, homes, groups of animals and other crops, whether cultivated or not.
