Since 2019, the number of agribusiness startups has grown by 40%, reaching 1.574 companies of this type in Brazil, according to the Radar Agtech Brasil survey. Apparently, the number of the entire startup ecosystem tends to grow, but mainly in relation to agtechs, startups focused on agribusiness. Thinking about solving problems in the field using technology, Mindflow was born, a startup selected for the 7th edition of the Sparks program, by Bluefields Aceleradora.

The project began in January 2021 with founders Carlos Eduardo Buss and Emanuele Gustani, in Paraná, with the aim of developing precision biological soil diagnostics. “Our work is done by mastering advanced genetic sequencing technologies of the soil microbiome combined with Artificial Intelligence strategies to assist in dynamic solutions for the field,” explains Emanuele Gustani, co-founder and CTO of Mindflow.

Having a well-defined objective is essential for any entrepreneur and this can be a difficult task when done alone. “Entrepreneurship can be a lonely journey, but it is not recommended. That's why a while ago, when I met Mindflow at the PVV (Purpose, Vision and Values) of Vale do Genoma, an innovation ecosystem in the South region located in Guarapuava, Paraná, I explained a little about Bluefields' work and we started to collaborate side by side”, says Paulo Humaitá, founder and CEO of Bluefields.

To guarantee specialized mentoring in the first steps of the market journey, agtech sought the support of Bluefields, an accelerator that works alongside companies and entrepreneurs, understanding the stage of each business and creating connections to better and faster promote the most diverse ideas. And it was through the Sparks program that Mindflow was able to validate its business and connect to a network of mentors and angel investors to get off the ground.

“Going through the acceleration process in the Sparks program has been excellent. This is a process of constant construction and deconstruction. We left the strictly academic scientific world and going through Sparks helped us prevent common mistakes made by those just starting out, validate structuring processes, learn how to sell ideas and products, in addition to making important partnerships for our journey”, explains Carlos Eduardo Buss , co-founder and CEO of Mindflow.

The company's trajectory transformed throughout the program. “Bluefields, with Sparks, gave us the opportunity to refine our ideas and test them in practice. We have built a consistent business model based on market data and today we deeply understand our customers’ pain points. Throughout this journey we found potential partners, customers and we are looking for our first investment”, concludes Carlos Eduardo Buss, co-founder and CEO of Mindflow.

The next edition of the Sparks program is now open for registration. Interested entrepreneurs have until April 29th to submit their ideas directly on the Bluefields website: https://bluefieldsdev.com/sparks/
