ADAMA inaugurated today (7/12) a manufacturing unit in Taquari (RS). It is focused on the production of active ingredients (such as prothioconazole) for new fungicides with a focus on the soybean and cotton market. It adds to the Taquari complex. The R$300 million investment is part of the company's plan to double revenue from the Brazilian operation and launch eight new products in the coming years (five fungicides, herbicides and others).
With the aim of being a reference in Formulation, one of the company's five strategic business pillars, ADAMA has been investing increasingly in the production of solutions and assets in Brazil.
“This is a multi-purpose plant in Brazil whose production forecast keeps us among the largest producers of this asset in the world”, says Romeu Stanguerlin, CEO of ADAMA Brasil.
The new factory will mean less dependence on external supplies, with access to inputs produced in the country. “For the producer, this is security. In other words, national production brings access and availability, as it reduces the risk of the producer not receiving the product needed for their crops due to conflicts and challenges in other countries. For soybean producers, for example, it will be essential, as the production of the main fungicides for their crops will be carried out here”, explains Stanguerlin.
With the aim of increasingly serving producers with what they need, ADAMA, whose brand promise is to listen to farmers, understand their challenges and deliver differentiated solutions, has been increasing its portfolio, with innovative and exclusive products, as well as services with digital technologies.
“To make these deliveries in a market as competitive as Brazil, we need to make strategic investments in the synthesis and formulation of some active ingredients”, says ADAMA CEO, Romeu Stanguerlin.

Sustainability
Of the investment of 300 million reais, 30% was in direct sustainability actions. From the design to the construction of the factory, a sustainable process was thought out and planned that reduces energy and water consumption and waste generation. The factory will also have gas and particulate filtration systems, ensuring and following all standards established by environmental agencies, avoiding atmospheric pollution.
Since the beginning of operations in Brazil, ADAMA has been carrying out actions to ensure that its culture and practices have foundations that allow the company to contribute to food production in a sustainable manner.
“Brazil has a very significant participation in world food and we are part of this chain, focusing on the development of exclusive sustainable solutions for agriculture in the country. Therefore, helping farmers in their daily challenges and contributing to Brazil remaining a country what produces and preserves is also our role”, reinforces Stanguerlin.
