Distribution of agricultural inputs is projected to generate R$ 171 billion in revenue in 2025
The sector accounts for 47% of the inputs that reach Brazilian producers, according to research by Andav and Cepea
The 15th Andav Congress ended this Thursday (August 13th) in São Paulo, with more than 18,000 participants over three days. The event brought together distributors of agricultural inputs, industry representatives, specialists, and professionals from different links in the agribusiness sector, focusing on business, networking, and discussions about the challenges and transformations of the sector.
The next edition, scheduled for August 3-5, 2027, already has 71% of exhibiting companies renewing their participation. This rate surpasses the initial target of 70% set by the organizers.
According to Vivian Lima, partner and CEO of Zest Eventos, the company responsible for organizing the Congress, the result reinforces the relevance of the event for the input distribution market. She believes the event's growth is related to the sector's search for knowledge, information exchange, and business opportunities.
In addition to the exhibition area, the program included lectures and debates on topics affecting the competitiveness of agribusiness, including the economic scenario, management, leadership, innovation, sustainability, tax reform, and new technologies.
The president of the Board of Directors of Andav, Marcos Chaves, highlighted the diversity of topics discussed during the three days. The organization's executive president, Paulo Tiburcio, emphasized the close relationship between distributors and rural producers as one of the sector's distinguishing features and defended maintaining this relationship with the agricultural sector in the face of agribusiness transformations.
The industry's participation also reinforced the Congress's role as a forum for building relationships with the distribution network. Companies such as BASF, Bayer, GiroAgro, Syngenta, Grupo Ceres Investimentos, Ecoagro, Aliare, and Biotrop highlighted business opportunities, closer ties with resellers, and the development of solutions to meet the sector's demands.
For Bayer, for example, the extensive reach of its distributors is strategic for bringing new technologies to different producing regions. Biotrop also highlighted the role of resellers in the expansion of regenerative agriculture and biological technologies.
The energy transition concluded the program of the Andav Congress. In the closing lecture, Alexandre Baldy, Senior Vice President and Head of Sales and Marketing at BYD, addressed Brazil's potential to combine electrification and biofuels in building a low-carbon transportation matrix.
The executive highlighted the diversity of Brazil's energy matrix, which includes sources such as solar, wind, and hydroelectric power, as well as ethanol, biodiesel, and biomethane. Among the possibilities presented is plug-in hybrid technology associated with the use of ethanol.
According to Baldy, the combination of electrification and biofuels can expand Brazil's participation in the energy transition and also open opportunities in markets with strong ethanol use, such as India.
With the conclusion of the 15th edition, the Andav Congress is already planning the next edition, which will be held from August 3rd to 5th, 2027.
