Soybean production gains momentum due to US weather and Chinese demand
The financial landscape of Brazilian agribusiness is going through one of the most challenging periods in recent years. High interest rates, greater selectivity in credit granting, an increase in judicial reorganizations in the agricultural sector, and changes in financing sources have demanded increasingly strategic management of financial risks from companies. In this context, access to credit has ceased to be merely an instrument for expansion and has become one of the main factors in the sector's competitiveness.
This will be the topic of the panel "Credit, Financial Market and Judicial Recovery" on August 12th, at 14:45 PM, during the 15th Andav 2026 Congress, which will be held from August 11th to 13th at the Transamerica Expo Center in São Paulo.
Participating in the debate are Renato Buranello, President of the Brazilian Institute of Agribusiness Law (IBDA), and representatives from important institutions that work directly in the financial structuring of agribusiness, such as Carlos Aguiar Neto, Director of Agribusiness at Santander; Pedro Fernandes, Director of Agribusiness at Itaú BBA; Marcelo Pimenta, General Director of Agribusiness at Serasa Experian; and Julio Laure, Founding Partner of Agromatic, ACE and Laure Defina Advogados.
The panel will discuss the transformations in rural credit, the evolution of the capital market as a financing alternative, the impacts of judicial reorganizations on the distribution chain, and risk management strategies in a more volatile economic environment.
In recent years, Brazilian agribusiness has significantly expanded its sources of financing, incorporating private instruments, structured operations, and new credit mechanisms. At the same time, the increased cost of capital and the growth of judicial reorganizations in different segments of the supply chain have brought new challenges for distributors, financial institutions, industries, and rural producers, requiring greater financial planning and more robust management models.
"Discussing credit today means discussing business sustainability. Distribution is directly connected to the financial health of the entire production chain and needs to understand how financing alternatives, risk mitigation mechanisms, and the impacts of economic changes on the sector are evolving," says Paulo Tiburcio, Executive President of Andav.
The panel is part of the program for the Andav 2026 Congress, which this year has the theme "Brazilian Agroeconomy: Reflections for the Future". Over three days, agribusiness leaders, economists, representatives from the financial market, industry executives, and specialists will discuss the main factors influencing the competitiveness of Brazilian agriculture.
The 15th Andav Congress will feature four pavilions and over 24 square meters of exhibition space, bringing together hundreds of companies, institutions, and experts in an environment focused on generating knowledge, networking, and business opportunities, reinforcing the strategic role of distribution in strengthening Brazilian agribusiness.
In addition to discussions on credit and the financial market, the program includes topics such as economics, geopolitics, tax reform, market intelligence, human resource management, bioenergy, innovation, and the distribution of agricultural inputs. The event will also feature the presentation of the National Agricultural Input Distribution Survey (ANDAV 2026), developed in partnership with Cepea/Esalq-USP, considered one of the main references on the Brazilian agricultural input distribution market.
