The National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac) is promoting this Tuesday and Wednesday (11 and 12) the webinar “Embraer Ipanema: good safety practices”, aimed at operators and professionals in agricultural aviation. The broadcast is free and will take place live, starting at 15:30 pm (Brasilia time), on Anac's YouTube channel.

The event will be divided into two modules: the first, on Tuesday, addresses aspects of aircraft maintenance, while the second, on Wednesday, focuses on safe procedures in field operations. Participants include representatives from Embraer, pilots, and specialists with extensive experience using the model.

According to a survey by Sindag, the Embraer Ipanema currently represents more than half of the Brazilian agricultural aviation fleet, composed of approximately 2,7 aircraft in operation across 24 states. Produced since the 1970s, the model is in its seventh generation (version 203) and is considered an icon of national agricultural aviation.

Since 2004, with the introduction of the ethanol-powered engine, the Ipanema has established Brazil as a world leader in aviation sustainability. According to Embraer, more than 570 units powered by biofuel have already been sold, in addition to another 210 aircraft converted from aviation gasoline to ethanol.

With this technology, it is estimated that the model has prevented the emission of approximately 29 million tons of CO₂ into the atmosphere since its certification 20 years ago. In addition to the environmental benefit, the ethanol engine also provides better performance and lower operating costs.

In 2024, Embraer announced the first sale of an Ipanema aircraft powered by ethanol through the Climate Fund, a federal government program administered by BNDES that finances the acquisition of equipment with a lower environmental impact.
