The 33rd edition of the Aapresid Congress, under the motto "Open Source," held at the La Rural Exhibition Park in Buenos Aires, drew record numbers. The meeting brought together 12,5 participants, 450 speakers, more than 160 panels, and 150 exhibitors. For the first time, it featured a business roundtable, which registered more than 100 registrants and 70% of meetings concluded, as well as a televised auction of 6 head of cattle.
During the event, Aapresid and the Argentine Rural Society (SRA) signed an agreement to expand producers' access to the Aapresid Conecta platform. The tool allows for production data management and strategic analysis of regional campaigns. The goal is to facilitate digitalization, access to certifications, technical support, and joint training. The alliance will also expand the platform's database, generating more robust analyses.
Another initiative launched at the conference was the Agtech Validation Network, developed by Aapresid in partnership with the investment fund Innventure. The program connects startups and technology companies with producers to test solutions in real-world field conditions, generate learning, and promote more efficient and sustainable agriculture.
For Aapresid president Marcelo Torres, digitalization and precision agriculture represent the "new direct seeding" and require collaborative innovation. Innventure founding partner Mayco Mansilla highlighted Latin America's growth as a global destination for agri-food technology investments, which has grown from 5% to 23% in a decade.
The conference also celebrated the 15th anniversary of the Pest Management Network (REM) and the return of the "Aaprender" lectures. The program covered topics such as food security, renewable energy, artificial intelligence, soil health, climate change, and biotechnology, with internationally renowned experts.
