The result of xarvio in the 2021/2022 harvest demonstrates the importance of using data with digital agriculture. In the areas mapped with the BASF solution, the optimization of inputs in weed management was 62% on average. Today, farmers in more than ten Brazilian states have already used the service. And more than 7 million hectares have already been registered on the xarvio FIELD MANAGER platform, since 2017, for use in the maps.

Planning every movement in the field is a real necessity. Therefore, tools such as the customized maps from xarvio FIELD MANAGER, generated from image data collected by drones, have become allies for more efficient and sustainable management of crops, bringing notes from the health of the crop to the amount of use of inputs such as herbicides, for example.

In the last five years, the Intelligent Digital Mapping solution has already mapped more than 800 thousand hectares, in more than 8 thousand hours of drone flight, totaling 5,6 million photos collected. All this data makes it possible to identify weeds, optimize pre-harvest desiccation inputs, adjust nitrogen fertilization and take care of crop health. For cotton, the technology also helps in the management of growth regulators.

“Digital solutions contribute to making the right decision, at the most appropriate time for each crop. These are services that facilitate and optimize the farmer’s work, being able to increase profitability per plot and further support sustainable practices”, reinforces Lucas Marcolin, Commercial Manager at xarvio Digital Farming Solutions.

Farmer Cristiano Rafaeli, from Luis Eduardo Magalhães (BA), adopted the technology and celebrates the result. “With xarvio, I can reduce the use of inputs and this naturally leads to greater crop yield. Today we have the tool in 100% of the area. I use and recommend it.”

Farmer Egon Hoepers Junior, from Santa Rita do Trivelato (MT), comments that he is very satisfied with the solution. “Of all the technologies we have on the market, I see that this is one that is aligned with the future, as it is the only one where you see money being saved. With the others, you will only know in the future whether you saved any money. With xarvio® I see it right away. I can see what is a culture and what is a weed, and make the decision,” he explains.

Real-time savings and sustainability

Since 2017, the Digital Weed Mapping service, from xarvio FIELD MANAGER, has been responsible for a total saving of more than 28,8 billion liters of water used to dilute agricultural pesticides. In the 2021/2022 harvest, 28 million liters were saved.

The agronomic intelligence of xarvio FIELD MANAGER also allows for a reduction in the time used for machines in the field. The sprayer's working time drops by an average of 3h30min for every thousand hectares, reducing fuel consumption and speeding up the operation with fewer fuel stops.

BASF invests approximately 900 million euros per year in research and development of innovations in seeds, pesticides and digital tools, “and xarvio technology is integrated with other solutions offered by the company for better crop management, from before planting until harvest”, concludes Almir Araujo, director of Digital, New Business Models and Commercial Excellence at BASF's Agricultural Solutions Division in Latin America.

To access maps based on satellite images and application maps made with drone images, the farmer must register on the xarvio FIELD MANAGER platform in the mobile version for Android e iOs, and also for desktop with.
