The Campo Limpo System (reverse logistics of empty pesticide packaging) disposed of 4.856 tons of empty pesticide packaging in an environmentally friendly way in Rio Grande do Sul in 2015. The number indicates an increase of 8% compared to the previous year. According to an analysis by inpEV (National Institute for Empty Packaging Processing), 45.536 tons were destined throughout Brazil in the period. The state of Rio Grande do Sul was responsible for 11% of this amount.

The institute reached the target set for 2015, of giving an environmentally correct disposal to 45.500 tons of empty agricultural pesticide packaging. Since the start of Campo Limpo System operations in 2002, more than 360 thousand tons of material have been allocated. For João Cesar M. Rando, CEO of inpEV, “the results show that the System has been able to meet the growing demand of Brazilian agriculture”.
