Summer crops are beginning to gain momentum in Paraná. According to the weekly Weather and Cultivation Conditions bulletin released this Tuesday (7) by the Department of Rural Economy (Deral), soybean and corn planting is progressing in practically all regions, favored by improved soil moisture conditions.

Soybeans accelerate with the return of rains

After weeks of unstable weather, planting of the 2025/26 soybean crop has picked up pace in areas where rainfall has stabilized. Moisture conditions are considered suitable for sowing and germination, although some regions are still experiencing slow progress due to irregular rainfall or excessive humidity in specific areas.

In the most advanced municipalities, emerging crops are showing good vigor and establishment, a scenario that should consolidate in the coming weeks with the forecast of more consistent rainfall and the acceleration of sowing throughout the state.

First corn crop nears completion

Summer corn planting is nearing its final stages in several regions of Paraná. Irregular rainfall in late September favored both germination and early crop development, with reports of good uniformity across the planted areas.

Despite this, Deral draws attention to the occasional presence of leafhoppers and thrips, which requires constant monitoring by producers to avoid losses at the beginning of the cycle.

Rice and beans remain within normal limits

The planting of the rice Irrigation is occurring on schedule and with good soil moisture, but the sector is concerned about the prices received, which are considered low compared to high production costs. Even so, yields remain within expectations, with reports of satisfactory productivity in areas already harvested.

Already bean The water supply is gradually advancing, showing adequate vigor and health in the developing crops. Cultivation practices are proceeding normally, and Deral considers the crop's progress positive so far.

Wheat and other winter crops enter the final stretch

Among winter crops, the harvest of wheat is nearing completion in several regions. Productivity varies depending on the impacts of drought and frost, but in some municipalities, results have exceeded initial expectations.

In specific areas, strong winds and persistent rains have caused plant lodging, which can affect grain quality. The harvest of oatmeal e barley It also occurs intermittently due to rain, with reports of lodging in plots where no growth reducer was applied.

Other crops maintain good performance

The harvest of sugar cane is on schedule and without major climate interference, although there are still occasional effects of the previous drought. chips presents good yield and vegetative development, benefiting from recent rains.

Na potato, planting is occurring at an appropriate pace, with producers staggering the planting to avoid a concentrated harvest. The crops are developing satisfactorily. tobacco transplantation is underway, with favorable climatic conditions for rooting and good initial development.

O café presented the first flowerings in several regions, stimulated by the recent dry spell, while the pastures begin to recover with the return of rain after the long dry period.
