PR 2025/26 Crop: Wheat maintains good development.

Deral's bulletin highlights favorable weather for grain filling in the week of July 28 to August 3.

Wheat crops in Paraná continue to show good development, favored by alternating periods of rain and sunshine. This is according to the Weather and Crop Conditions Bulletin for the week of July 28 to August 3, released this Tuesday (August 4) by the Department of Rural Economy (Deral), of the Secretariat of Agriculture and Supply.

According to the survey, the areas are predominantly in the flowering and fruiting stages, with some crops beginning to mature. Climatic conditions have favored grain filling, while plant health remains under control, with only sporadic reports of diseases and pests, such as aphids and powdery mildew, which have been adequately managed. The outlook for the crop's productive potential remains positive.

Among other winter crops, barley is also showing good development, with crops in the vegetative phase and advancing towards the reproductive stages. Oats are progressing satisfactorily, benefiting from the moisture for grain filling, although excess rain has limited some management operations.

In the second corn crop, harvesting is progressing unevenly due to alternating periods of rain and dry weather. In some areas, excess moisture has increased the risk of lodging, but productivity and grain quality remain within the expected average, although below potential in regions affected by the previous drought.

The coffee harvest is progressing well, driven by periods of dry weather. Scattered rains are still hindering the drying of the beans in some regions, but yield and quality remain within expectations. The rise in prices has also stimulated sales.

The bulletin also reports that the cassava harvest is proceeding normally, while preparations for planting the first potato crop have begun. Regarding fruits, the orange harvest continues, and strawberry production remains satisfactory, despite isolated reports of anthracnose related to high humidity.

The pastures remain in good condition, ensuring an adequate supply of forage for animal feed.
