RS 2024/25 Harvest: soybean harvest progresses, but losses in the field are a concern
With 95% of the area harvested, water deficit and natural threshing worsen losses; corn continues at a slower pace and faces water stress in the final phase
The Goiás State Department of Agriculture (Seapa-GO) released today (9/5) the 68th edition of Agro em Dados, a technical bulletin that brings together strategic information on Goiás agribusiness. The highlight of this edition is the sugarcane production chain, which reached a new record in the 2024/25 harvest, with an estimated production of 78,5 million tons, according to the National Supply Company (Conab).
With this result, Goiás remained the third largest sugarcane producer in Brazil, with a growth of 2,6% compared to the previous cycle. The growth was driven by the increase in the harvested area, which reached 969,7 thousand hectares, and by productivity, estimated at 81,0 tons per hectare. Industrial production also reflects this performance, with an estimated 2,9 million tons of sugar and 4,8 billion liters of ethanol, with growth of 8,8% and 2,8%, respectively.
In addition to information on the most important crops, the publication also provides updated data on the main agricultural chains in Goiás, with market analyses, exports and economic indicators. “Agro em Dados is prepared by Seapa’s Market Intelligence Management, based on data from the main official institutions and its main objective is to offer quality information to producers, public managers, technicians, investors and others interested in the development of agriculture in Goiás”, highlights the head of Seapa, Pedro Leonardo Rezende.
