Apple production in Brazil is expected to reach 915 tons in the 2024/25 cycle, according to estimates from the Brazilian Association of Apple Producers (ABPM). This number represents a 10% increase over the previous harvest, with an expected 20% increase in fresh fruit supply. Quality is the highlight: the fruits are of excellent size, color and ideal for conservation.

With over 33 hectares of orchards, Brazil has a production potential of up to 1,35 million tons per year, generating over 120 direct and indirect jobs. Apples are the third most consumed fruit in the country, and are available year-round thanks to cold storage technologies.

“We are starting another harvest cycle with great expectations. The quality of the apples is excellent, and the forecast is that the increase in production will bring great results. Furthermore, apple production moves a broad production chain”, highlights Francisco Schio, president of ABPM.

The activity boosts trade and attracts visitors interested in the plantations, strengthening the socioeconomic development of the region.
