As of April 18, the soybean harvest for the 2024/2025 crop reached 99,1% of the total area in Mato Grosso do Sul. The information is from the Siga-MS Project, executed by Aprosoja/MS. The southern region is most advanced in the harvest, with an average of 99,6%, while the central region is at 98,5% and the north is at 98,2% on average. The area harvested to date, according to estimates from the Siga-MS Project, is approximately 4,4 million hectares.
The harvest is estimated to be 6,8% larger than the previous cycle (2023/2024), covering an area of 4,5 million hectares. Initial productivity was 51,7 bags per hectare, generating an expected production of 13,9 million tons. This outlook is based on the average of the last five years of the Siga-MS project. After sampling 10,7% of the area, new data indicated a productivity of 54,4 bags per hectare, an increase of 11,4% compared to the previous cycle. This generates an expected production of 14,686 million tons, an increase of 18,9% compared to the previous production (2023/2024). Comparing the initial productivity with the current one, we have an increase of 5%.
"The municipalities of Cassilândia, Alcinópolis and Brasilândia occupy the first three positions in the average productivity ranking, with 83,6; 82, and 79,6 bags per hectare. The municipalities of Douradina, Glória de Dourados and Três Lagoas occupy the last three positions, with productivity of 19,3; 20 and 26,28 bags per hectare, respectively", points out the technical coordinator of Aprosoja/MS, Gabriel Balta.
