Mango prices started this year on the rise, according to research by Hortifruti/Cepea. From January 7th to 11th, in the Petrolina/Juazeiro square (PE/BA), palmer was sold at R$ 1,93/kg, on average, and tommy, at R$ 1,82/kg, strong increases of 29% and 34%, respectively, compared to the values practiced in the previous week.

The price of palmer also rose in Monte Alto/Taquaritinga (SP), 28%, with an average of R$ 1,00/kg. The increases were mainly the result of low supply in producing regions, but wholesale agents also point to a recovery in consumer demand. www.hfbrasil.org.br
