The 100% automated Multicanaplus planter, controlled by a Dutch robot, will be presented at a field day at the company's unit in Barra Bonita, on Thursday, June 9, and promises to revolutionize the seedling planting market. The machine was assembled at the Carderolli metallurgical plant, located in Coroados, in the northwest region of São Paulo, close to Araçatuba, almost 600 km from the capital.
While the current system can plant an average of 2 to 3 ha per 8-hour shift, with the 100% automated planter it is possible to obtain planting efficiency of 4,0 to 7,0 ha/day (with 1 or 2 work shifts / 8 - 16 Hours), with just one planter. Depending on team timing, seedling quality and planting area, this yield can reach a total of 240.000 to 330.000 seedlings per week.
The machine can be assembled for 2, 3 or up to 4 robots (lines) with a single operator supervising the operation of up to 4 robots simultaneously. Equipped with a suspended platform, the planter eliminates risk for the operator and optimizes refueling. The distance between rows can be adjusted to 0,90m to 1,50m and the distance between plants can be adjusted between 0,30 to 1,00m, with planting depths up to 10 to 15 cm below ground level, with a planting speed of planting speeds of up to 2,5 km per hour. This corresponds to 5.000 plants per robot per hour.
The equipment is equipped with boxes for applying fertilizers (700 kg) and tanks for applying insecticides (300 liters). Platform with capacity for 15.552 seedlings (average of 1,5 ha). There is also the possibility of combining the placement of a water retention gel in the hole where the plants are being deposited. The robots can be used for different types of trays (rigid) and plant all types of seedlings (meristems, tillers and MPB).
The planting machine is equipped with LED lighting, allowing planting operation 24 hours a day, and its loading system is very simple (10 to 15 minutes), modular shelves that can be loaded onto the planting machine manually or with forklifts.
The advantages of the 100% automated planter over the system currently used by the market are numerous, and Multicanaplus technicians highlight day and night planting, with just one tractor driver and one operator on the planter when the traditional one requires at least 4 operators, reducing the number of people by up to 50%; and with the planting carts close to the ground, the risk of accidents is eliminated.
An adaptation by Multiocanaplus technicians also eliminated the risk of inhaling chemical pesticides in car seats and between the lines of strollers. The removal of seedlings from trays carried out in the traditional system was eliminated with the robotization of the system, which guarantees fewer planting failures with trays 100% filled. Supply is fast and safe.
