Volkswagen announces that Pablo Di Si will occupy the newly created position of Executive Chairman in the Latin America region from January 1, 2022, which covers operations in 29 countries, including Brazil, Argentina and countries in South America and Central America. Pablo leaves his position as President and CEO of Volkswagen operations in Latin America. Volkswagen do Brasil's operation will be led by Ciro Possobom, who assumes responsibility as COO Brazil (Chief Operating Officer), also holding the current role of Vice-President of Finance and IT Strategies for Volkswagen South America Region; Thomas Owsianski remains President and CEO of Volkswagen Argentina and Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the South America Region.

Ralf Brandstätter, CEO of car brand Volkswagen: "Pablo Di Si is the chief architect of our incredible recovery story in Latin America. With his strong business acumen, long-term vision and deep knowledge of this region, he has been instrumental to prepare us for success. Under his leadership, we launched the biggest portfolio renewal in Volkswagen's history in Brazil, tailored to South American tastes, gaining significant market share. I couldn't think of a more suitable leader for this key role. With Ciro Possobom taking over Brazil, we will continue to make our business more resilient. With his strong background in finance, he will ensure that our recent achievements are sustainable. I am confident that with Pablo Di Si, Ciro Possobom in Brazil and Thomas Owsianski in Argentina, we have a very strong leadership team to write our next successful chapter in Latin America."

Pablo Di Si led a business transformation at Volkswagen Latin America with the expected return of positive results in fiscal year 2021. Over the last 4 years, Volkswagen has promoted the biggest offensive of new products in its history adapted to the needs of the region, launching the New Polo, Virtus, T-Cross, Nivus and Taos, among others. Pablo was responsible for restructuring the organization with a focus on an intense cultural transformation, creating new business models, accelerating digitalization and improving customer satisfaction. Under his management, Volkswagen became the leader in the compact sports utility vehicle segment in Brazil and the brand maintained its position as the largest producer and exporter of light vehicles in the country.

Pablo recently announced investments of R$7 billion in the Latin America region over the next five years to accelerate the pace of Volkswagen Latin America's transformation into a software-driven supplier of sustainable mobility. He is also responsible for establishing the Brazil-based Biofuels R&D Center to develop complementary technology to Volkswagen's global electrification offensive.
