The adoption and implementation of new technologies in the field was overwhelming and brought countless benefits throughout the chain, from producers, input companies, industries, multiculture, irrigation, among others.

Unlike other segments, agriculture had a particularity at the height of the pandemic. It was the only one that didn't stop, so it needed to innovate its processes and thus grew considerably, and the reason was just one - food production and distribution. According to data from the Ministry of Agriculture, revenues from the countryside are expected to total more than R$1 trillion this year, around 10% more than in 2020. This is the first time that agricultural revenues reach this level, which almost tripled in two decades.

These numbers reinforce the potential of this market and the strengthening of agtechs during this period was inevitable. But now that we are resuming our routine, what will be the trends for 2022 and post-pandemic? According to studies by Distrito, an open innovation platform, the three main trends for next year will be: High Tech Livestock, Blockchain and Farm Automation.

As a large part of the Brazilian economy revolves around this sector, technologies play a leading role by providing numerous facilities and gains in operational efficiency. In addition to the areas mentioned above, I reinforce that the tools that work with Cost Reduction, Increased productivity, IoT, Biotechnology, Management ERPs, Traceability, Chemical components and pharmaceuticals, automation, genetics, animal health and organic crops, will also have evidence for next year for positively impacting the entire chain.

And it doesn't stop there, agrofintechs have become increasingly stronger by offering facilities to rural producers. Without third-party intermediaries, with lower fees than traditional banks, these professionals can open a digital account and carry out various transactions, without bureaucracy. Furthermore, many startups in this sector provide a dashboard with all activities in the field, all in the palm of your hand – is this a true evolution or not?

Finally, the main conclusion of this entire analysis is that the more we invest in innovation, the more the sector will develop and provide new business opportunities. It is worth keeping an eye on the evolution of agriculture and the impact that these technologies will bring to the market.
