Brazil has an enviable condition in terms of supply and variety of seeding machines, especially in terms of what we call direct planting in straw. Few countries in the world have so many advances in seeding machines aimed at this practice. This is one of the reasons why we have been able to consolidate it as one of the best ways of controlling erosion and conserving agricultural soil.

The technique was born in the South region and over the years it evolved, reaching a stage truly worthy of praise. It is applied science, resulting from the interaction between different areas of engineering and agronomy. Our machines help both in soil conservation and in increasing agricultural productivity.

In this edition we test the LS Planter again, in a new configuration and under field conditions and evaluation method.

The LS Tractor brand is no longer new in the country. This company of South Korean origin has been installed and producing tractors in Brazil since 2012, reaching really important levels of market conquest. Installed with a tractor factory in Garuva (SC), it has a well-established dealer network, meaning that since last year it began offering, in addition to wheeled tractors, a seeding machine. This action is being carried out through an agreement with the company Eixo Plant, from Passo Fundo (RS), which in addition to manufacturing, will provide training, assistance and after-sales service in parts replacement to LS customers.

The product portfolio has been quite broad since the beginning, offering different models and configurations. The machines can have five or 16 sowing lines and the spacing between them can vary from 30cm to 45cm, simply by lateral displacement of the lines on the crossbar that supports them.

STRUCTURE

The chassis of the H08045 is of the Flex Frame type, which allows solderless joints between components. Using mostly French head screws, it facilitates retightening, assembly and disassembly, requiring only one tool. It appears robust, using thick sheets and profiles, and in this configuration, with the eight lines assembled, it reaches a total weight of 3.520kg.

The seeder's traction is of the trailed type, and the hitch of the header to the tractor's traction bar has two height positions, which facilitate leveling according to the height of the tractor's traction bar, maintaining maximum horizontality. At the junction with the machine, it has a hitch on the two lower parts and a third point on the top, with a screw jack, which is used both to raise the header for coupling to the tractor, and to level the seeder longitudinally for work. In the header there is a useful space with a lid to store tools.

The seeder's wheelset support system is supported by two robust hydraulic pistons, with automatic height management through the monitor, directly from the operator's cabin. Height increments occur as a percentage, adjustment possible thanks to a position sensor located next to the piston, informing in real time the exact height of the seeder and enabling millimetric adjustments. The wheels are equipped with Goodyear Bandeirante 7.50-16 tires. In the case of this seeder, the wheels only serve for support, as the dosers are activated hydraulically.
