Effective control of Helicoverpa and false caterpillars
In addition to choosing the correct product, the appropriate use of application technology is essential for successful control of these insects.
Zero Kneading, Stara's technology that automatically shuts down planting lines, generates up to 4% seed savings, without the need to use application maps
One of Stara's most recent launches is Zero Kneading, an exclusive technology from the brand, which automatically shuts down planting lines where sprayers and distributors will be trafficked. This technology allows the farmer to have a return of up to 4% in seed savings, depending on the width of the trail to be configured and the width of application.
Zero Kneading is available for any Stara planter that has a Line by Line Shutdown System and Topper 5500 controller. This technology allows farmers who already have a Stara planter to update their machine. This is a process carried out entirely by software within the Topper 5500, that is, without mechanical interference in the machine and without the need to install a new component in the planter.
Zero Kneading works as follows: the planter will disconnect the seed line at the exact location of sprayer and distributor traffic. For this to happen, straight AB lines must be imported from the self-propelled machine using a pen drive, copying the coordinates of point A and point B from another controller, or simply creating new lines in the planter Topper itself, without the need to use maps of application.
Remembering that the lines to be created for disconnection in the wake of Zero Kneading must be AB straight. For the planting line, the technology will work with straight AB or curved AB, that is, it does not depend on the direction in which the planting will be done.
In addition, a border of the planting area is mandatory and must be carried out at least once. From this, the self-propelled vehicles follow the tracks created at the time of planting, which are easy to see for the operator who will carry out post-emergence applications.
For Zero Amassamento to work properly, it is mandatory to use good quality GPS correction signals (with a maximum variation of 4cm) or even signals with RTK correction, to guarantee accurate trace repeatability. The tractor must also have an automatic pilot for equidistance between one pass and another.
When purchasing Zero Kneading, the responsible technician will update the Topper 5500 version, release the controller and subsequently calibrate the equipment to start planting. The main calibrations on the machine refer to the measurements to be measured according to the Line by Line Shutdown System, in addition to the passes with the set to check whether the tractor's autopilot is having an acceptable equidistance between one pass and another.
One of the main benefits of this technology is the average saving of up to 4% of seeds, depending on the application width of the sprayer or solids distributor and the width of the wheelset tracks, varying from crop to crop, the type of terrain and also according to the owner's preference.
On average, around 0,55m is used for soybean cultivation and 0,70m for corn cultivation, that is, the architecture of the plant also greatly influences the crop. Thus, a Stara planter with the Line by Line Shutdown System, which saves an average of 5,03% of seeds in the border areas, added to the Zero Kneading technology with an average saving of 4%, can generate total savings of up to 9,03 .XNUMX% seeds.
To simulate the results of these technologies in the field, the farmer can download the Plantio Stara app, available for Android and iOS. In it, it is possible to simulate how much the farmer will save using the Line by Line Shutdown System and Zero Kneading, according to information from his reality, in addition to simulating the viability of the Zero Kneading investment. The producer can also calculate the operation's coefficient of variation, that is, evaluate the planting quality of each plot in the same application.
The Zero Kneading configuration setup is located within: Menu > Field > Base border > Zero Kneading, in Topper 5500, being editable: AB application line (select), self-propelled track gauge width (meters), track width of the self-propelled (varying from 0,45 to 1,5 m), width of the application range (meters), border limit (meters) or border passes (number of passes).
