The new MF 4700 and MF 5700 series from Massey Ferguson bring the company's global project to Brazilian tractors, with technologies available in markets in other countries

The evolution of one of the most traditional families of tractors from the Massey Ferguson brand, the MF 4200, the new MF 4700 and MF 5700 series were designed to increase the performance and versatility of field activities. Available in platform and cabin versions, the new models complement the brand's portfolio in the power range of 75 to 105 hp. These new series of tractors are part of a global project by Massey Ferguson and bring with them the same technology available in other important markets to Brazil.

The MF 4700 family has three models: MF 4707 (75 hp), MF 4708 (85 hp) and MF 4709 (95 hp); and the MF 5700, two models: MF 5709 (95 hp) and MF 5710 (105 hp). In addition to power, the highlight is the engine, where all Massey Ferguson brand tractors will now be equipped with three-cylinder AGCO Power engines and an electronic fuel injection management system.

The evolution is continuous and doesn't just stop at the engine, another big difference is the syncromesch transmission with factory reverse with great scaling and easy gear shifting. In addition to this, both series have a large lifting capacity and high flow rate from the remote control system.

 MOTOR

The MF 4700 and MF 5700 series are equipped with a three-cylinder engine, manufactured by AGCO Power, with power from 75 to 105 hp, with turbo and intercooler, electronic fuel injection management and iEGR gas recirculation system. With this, Massey Ferguson, in addition to complying with the MAR-I standard for controlling pollutant emissions, remains faithful to its proposal to prepare the new generation of engines for the future, delivering cutting-edge technology in engine management and promoting direct results and real to the field partner. These engines have items such as: anti-failure safety mode, fuel injection control according to demand and proportional to the working speed, that is, the direct injection system (common rail) offers optimized injection pressures, even at low speeds. engine, and also, high torque capacity.

All this generates lower fuel consumption, faster responses and greater torque at low speeds, providing greater efficiency and greater performance during work. The engines are compact, with fewer friction components, which results in lower mechanical losses and greater efficiency. If we consider maintenance, oil and filter changes, the three-cylinder engine uses a smaller volume of lubricating oil, a smaller number of components, that is, lower cost in the long term.

 STREAMING

Another differentiator of the new series is the syncromesch transmission, available for the MF 4700 series in 8x8 options with mechanical reversion, or 12x12, with the option of mechanical or electro-hydraulic reversion. The new transmission is more modern and has an excellent cost-benefit ratio. For the MF 5700 series, we have a transmission with 12 forward and 12 reverse speeds, with synchronized gears and movement reversal (mechanical or electro-hydraulic).

Within the useful speed range (4km/h to 12km/h) there are six gears available. This translates into optimal gear scaling and better work performance, that is, the appropriate speed for the most diverse applications.

Mechanical reversion (Mechanical Shuttle) is carried out using a lever positioned on the tractor's instrument panel, where after pressing the clutch pedal, the movement can be reversed.

The electric-hydraulic reverser (Power Shuttle) uses the same principle as the Dyna-4, Dyna-6 and Dyna-VT tractors. To reverse the tractor's movement, simply lift the lever and change it from the front to the back position and vice versa, in addition to the neutral function. There is also the possibility of adjusting the sensitivity of the forward or reverse launch using a potentiometer that is close to the reversing lever. In this version, the clutch can also be activated using a button on the gear shift knob, that is, when the operator changes gear, simply press the button and select the desired gear, without the need to operate the clutch pedal. , enabling greater comfort and reducing operator fatigue.

For rural producers who require extremely low speeds to carry out some operations, in both series it is possible to configure the tractors with a super-reducer (creeper), expanding the speed range from 8x8 to 16x16 and 12x12 to 24x24, allowing the speed of the tractor is suitable for the operation.

HYDRAULIC SYSTEM

A simple open center hydraulic system, driven by two gear pumps, where the 27 L/min pump provides all internal services. The 65 L/min (MF 4700) or 58 L/min (MF 5700 and MF 6700) pumps allow the electronically controlled hitch to lift 3.000 kg and 4.300 kg, respectively.

In the MF 5700, an oil flow of 98 L/min is achieved by simply pressing a button, where a greater oil flow is available to meet the most diverse applications. Two remote control valves as standard; and optional third valve.

 HYDRAULIC LIFT

The three rear points were optimized and designed specifically for these new three Massey Ferguson series. With the highest lifting capacity, the MF 4700 tractors have a capacity of 3.000kg and the MF 5700 tractors 4.300kg, suitable for any lifting need for an implement in these power ranges.

Furthermore, in addition to offering the highest lifting capacities in the category, Massey Ferguson brings to Brazil, as an option, the electronic control (ELC) of the three-point lift. This system provides precise control and quick responses to the operator's commands, as it “understands” the operator's intuitive command in the demand for more or less hydraulic ascent and descent speed.

The MF 4700 and MF 5700 series come with a three-point lift as standard. They all have ascent, descent and ground copy functions. Furthermore, in some versions extra functions are available such as: maximum ascent and descent control, ascent and descent speed, and suspension function, which provides greater comfort when transporting an implement. In both series, MF 4700 and MF 5700, the ascent and descent control of the three-point hydraulic system is electronic, which guarantees greater precision in the position of the implements during operations.

 POWER OUTLET

All models are equipped with a six-spline PTO shaft, which can deliver speeds of 540 and 540E rpm, depending on tractor model and version. The basic versions of all MF 4700 and MF 5700 series are equipped with a 540rpm TDP. Control is done through a modern and independent clutch, which is electro-hydraulically activated, which facilitates activation and protects the transmission by gradually increasing propulsion. This control system combines maximum reliability with ease of use and is simply controlled via a button on the operating station (platform or cabin). Electronic control regulates drive rate for reliability - smoother, regulated and tuned for an ideal drive rate, capable of delivering reliable PTO drive regardless of engine speed or implement size.

 OPERATOR ENVIRONMENT

The MF 4700 and MF 5700 series tractors come in two versions: platform and cab. The platform version was designed from the ground up with an emphasis on comfort and ease of use. Handrails, mounted outside the operator station, and machine-mounted steps provide easy access, while a low transmission tunnel creates a spacious platform. Once seated, the operator finds the manual controls in ergonomic positions, leaving him comfortable to operate and confident throughout the many hours of work on the tractor.

Cab versions set a new standard for operator ergonomics. The highlights of the new cabin include 360º visibility, unparalleled for maximum comfort and safety at work. The cabin is wider and guarantees more internal space with better positioning of controls, all within fingertips, allowing precise and easy operations.

The instrument panel is easy to view and identify using indicator lights and symbols. In addition to the information that the operator is accustomed to finding in current machines on the market, the MF 4700 series tractors provide other items, such as digital measurement of the tractor's travel speed. In the MF 5700 series, in addition to travel speed, there is information on instantaneous fuel consumption, total consumption and the area worked. The auxiliary front-wheel drive and locking are electro-hydraulic.
