Close to the completion of the VI ANDAV Congress – Forum & Exhibition, ANDAV recalls that it read in the plenary of the last edition of the event – a year ago – a manifesto based on macroeconomic themes that remain urgent and require the commitment of the federal government. Six fronts were highlighted. The first of them related to access to rural credit, which called for the reduction of bureaucracy, modernization of legislation, correct incentives through facilitations and subsidies aimed at producers, which are really necessary to remove these agricultural entrepreneurs from the crossroads, who are making a true revolution in the countryside, being essential for the Brazilian trade balance.

Another front was agricultural insurance, which goes hand in hand with logistics, another highlight. Both cannot be forgotten at a time when the economy needs a broad recovery of the national product and an exchange rate policy that generates a primary surplus.

Still necessary (and another front contained in the manifesto), is legislation that classifies the smuggling of illegal agrochemicals as a heinous crime, which begins with the irrevocable inclusion of businesspeople on the Ministry of Finance's list that makes access to credit unfeasible.

Finally, the safety of transport and storage of products was imminent, striving for better safety conditions, essential to increase investments in agribusiness.

In short, last year's manifesto – which remains more current than ever – was delivered to Brazilian agribusiness authorities, in particular it was directed to the former minister of agriculture Kátia Abreu. At the time, the distribution channel was already on alert about the direction of the Brazilian political scenario, the slowness in decision-making and the political disarray faced by the government in Congress. What's more: it was already clear that our sector would be the main factor in the positive imbalance in the trade balance. A fact that proved to be true.

The hole could be much bigger, but as in other crises already faced, the power of our entire production chain always helps the macroeconomy. As we are all eager for change, ANDAV makes it clear that it is past time to “look” with a great magnifying glass for the main bottlenecks in agribusiness.

Brazilian agriculture is already big on the world stage and we can be true giants, present solutions to the crisis faced by us Brazilians, create incentives to change the migration axis from the countryside to the big cities and also generate a change in the terrible employment rates that we are experiencing. We represent the distribution channel for agricultural and veterinary inputs and drive 70% of the crop protection business and that of our associates who, in fact, had revenues exceeding R$ 34 billion in the last agricultural year and employed more than 50 thousand direct employees, in addition to the indirect ones.

All this discussion about improvements, professionalization, political aspects, cases and future scenarios will be part of the VI Congress – ANDAV Forum & Exhibition. The experience experienced in the last edition and briefly described here, generated the entire content program for 2016. Therefore, we reinforce the need for the adhesion of the entire distribution channel for agricultural and veterinary inputs, industry professionals, class entities and associations and from the producer, who is always welcome, brings us experiences about their challenges and helps us to think more completely about our business.

In this way, with each edition of the Congress we seek to innovate the agenda of discussions and expand the topics covered in constant support of the demands and sustainable growth of the sector. To further encourage professionals involved with the chain, theVI ANDAV Congress – Forum & Exhibitionwill present the winnersI ANDAV Award, aimed at distributors who carried out challenging work and who in some way transformed to develop the community where they operate.

From August 15th to 17th, we will be meeting at the Transamerica Expo Center, in São Paulo-SP, to assess our scenario, demand practical actions from the federal government and debate the evolution of Brazil's greatest economic vocation: agribusiness.
