There is still some uncertainty when the General Data Protection Law will come into force, however, companies are already preparing for this new reality. And, in agribusiness, it couldn't be any different.

With the aim of regulating the protection and privacy of personal data, the legislation applies to all types of information that can identify a non-legal entity. In this context, one can consider the relationships between companies, customers, suppliers and other partners who have knowledge and/or documentation containing personal data. In this way, technology - which is a great ally of rural producers and the sector itself - will gain even more strength and relevance in this process.

Increasingly, cybersecurity is becoming a very important factor of responsibility for all market players. Companies, more than ever, need to observe these new requirements and promote awareness among everyone covered by them.

Compliance with this law, in addition to being an obligation that is subject to sanctions and fines, is also a way for the entire production chain to show transparency in relation to its procedures. The more transparent and responsible this scenario is, the better the conditions will be for companies to continue fulfilling their missions, like Mosaic Fertilizers, of helping the world produce the food it needs.
