Launch of Kuhn, the Fighter 2500 self-propelled sprayer has a bold design and is equipped with high technology to achieve better performance in the application of agricultural pesticides
Kuhn is reinforcing its portfolio, increasing its already established line of spraying products. The new self-propelled sprayer, Fighter 2500, launched at Agrishow 2019, features a pesticide tank made of stainless steel, an intelligent electronic transmission system, a cabin with more internal space and the Trimble GFX-750 terminal, which will offer more technology. and quality in applications.
STAINLESS STEEL DEFENSIVE TANK
With a 2.500-liter stainless steel tank, the launch promises to solve an important issue, which is proper cleaning of the tank. The cylindrical shape and surface finish of its walls ensure ease of cleaning, eliminating any chemical residue. In addition to being easy to clean, stainless steel offers greater durability and resistance compared to other materials.
The Fighter 2500 also has a 300-liter clean water tank and internal cleaning systems for the pesticide tank, using two rotating dispersers. The syrup agitation system consists of four hydraulic agitators strategically positioned at the bottom of the reservoir, allowing agitation at around 800L/min.
SPRAY BARS
The new model has bars of 27, 30 or 32 meters, and a trijet nozzle holder with a spacing of 50cm. With 32 meter bars it is possible to have a 12% reduction in crushing, compared to a 28 meter bar, in addition to an increase in daily operational yield of around 15%, allowing the application of agricultural pesticides in the best climatic conditions, reaching the maximum the potential of the product.
The new quick coupling system for EASYFIT booms allows you to assemble a spray boom without screwing, with unprecedented speed and modularity.
LED LIGHTS – BLUE LIGHT
To make the most of the optimal spraying conditions (low temperature and good atmospheric humidity), night work is possible thanks to LED – Blue Light lamps, installed next to the boom, allowing better control over spraying, as they guarantee good visualization of the spray jets. spraying, more quickly identifying any flaws along the bar.
SPRAY CIRCUIT
The spray system pipes are entirely made of stainless steel, which ensures durability and resistance to corrosion. Kuhn is a pioneer in the use of a multi-stage spray pump, where multiple impellers (rotors) guarantee better spray stability throughout the entire circuit, as well as high resistance to different types of pesticides.
This multistage pump offers some advantages, such as a precise design that allows high operating pressures to be achieved, even with a reduced number of revolutions, which translates into a longer life for all components. Furthermore, the price is very competitive compared to stainless steel pumps.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The Fighter 2500 is equipped with the Cummins QSB 4.5 electronic engine, with 198 hp, meeting the standards of MAR-1 legislation.
The engine has high durability and performance, with lower fuel consumption and lower maintenance costs throughout its useful life; Furthermore, it is approved to work with B20 diesel and biodiesel.
It is equipped with an intelligent 4x4 electronic hydrostatic transmission, where the electronic system controls and manages the traction and slippage of each wheel at all times. All transmission components are electronically controlled. With this information, the diesel engine regulates itself automatically, allowing it to always work at the best speed, improving fuel economy and machine performance, even on more difficult terrain.
The Fighter 2500 does not have defined gears, but rather factory-predetermined spraying and transport speeds, which can be managed by the machine owner in cases where he wants to determine the maximum speeds at which the operator should spray and transport the equipment. In this way, it is possible to improve the efficiency, performance and useful life of equipment components.
WEIGHT
The new sprayer manages to combine its 8.500kg in an excellent distribution between the front and rear wheels. These features, added to the 198hp engine and intelligent electronic transmission, provide the machine with excellent performance on uneven terrain, even on slopes of 34%.
CABINS
The cabin offers a high standard of finishing and comfort, seeking to provide the operator with the best possible ergonomics through the arrangement of internal equipment.
The viewing area increased by the extension of the front glass allows for broad visibility when applying.
The pressurization system and double-sealed door guarantee greater protection and acoustic insulation and the operator and instructor seats are comfortable. It has an adjustable steering column, Bluetooth radio, heating and cooling system and compartments for documents and cell phones.
PRECISION AGRICULTURE
Equipped as standard with the new 750-inch Trimble GFX-10.1 terminal, touchscreen and high resolution, it allows better monitoring of work. It has the intuitive Precision-IQ environment, which can transfer files between the vehicle and the office quickly and easily, as it has integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
The Fighter 2500 has a hydraulic autopilot, nine-section automatic cutting, electronic spray controller, reversing camera and, as an option, automatic headland maneuver - Next Swatch. With remote technical support, you can connect to your office terminal to resolve any terminal-related issues. The NAV-900 GNSS receiver, which comes with the machine, allows for greater signal stability. It monitors more constellations and a greater number of satellites, enabling more efficient performance in difficult environments.
ADJUSTS TO THE NEEDS OF CROPS
One of the characteristics of this model is the quick reaction to the diverse needs of customers. Gauge widths can be pre-selected, ranging from 2,60m to 3,20m. With a free span of 1,60m, it has great versatility for applications in the most diverse stages of crops. Furthermore, with IF 340/85 R 38 tires, greater flotation is achieved, reducing soil compaction problems.
ACTIVE PNEUMATIC SUSPENSION
The active pneumatic suspension system significantly helps to improve the equipment's performance on undulating terrain. The great capacity to absorb impacts generates comfort for the operator and allows the tires to better adhere to the ground, always keeping them in contact with it, and prevents the transfer of shocks to the chassis.
HYDRAULIC DRIVE
Seeking agility and ease when supplying pesticides, the front ladder and bottle washer have combined hydraulic actuation. The bottle washer has a Venturi suction system integrated into the discharge valve, to take up less space. It also has a special nozzle at the bottom of the reservoir for mixing granulated or powdered agricultural pesticides and a rotating nozzle for rinsing the packaging.
FRONT REFUELING
The refueling system is frontal and offers better accessibility and ease of filling the spray tank, as well as shorter time to return to work thanks to the refueling pump with a capacity of 700L/minute.
KUHN BALANCES
The sprayer also has the Kuhn Equilibra system, a damping system that provides self-leveling of the bars, improving stability and ensuring uniformity in the application. Precisely calibrated accumulators reduce impacts on the booms. Its single-point pendulum system prevents the bars from oscillating depending on irregularities in the ground.
