Launched at Agrishow, the Fendt 1050 Vario tractor features a CVT transmission and low engine speed system, differentials that improve fuel consumption and reduce maintenance costs

The Fendt 1000 Vario line is one of the new features from the German brand that has just arrived in Brazil, with an official launch at Agrishow 2019. The Vario line was specifically designed to deliver a powerful traction tractor for the global market. Launched in 2015, in Europe, the machines won awards in more than six different countries on that continent. In addition to titles for technical innovations, the Fendt 1000 Vario line has won design awards. In Munich, Germany, it won the renowned iF Design Award Gold 2016 for its “well thought out design”, as the judges defined it. It also received another German recognition, the Red Dot for Product Design 2016, due to the successful integration between functionality and design.

In Brazil, in 2019, tractors from the Fendt 1000 Vario line will be sold in the Fendt 1050 Vario version, with 517 hp. The tractor is equipped with a 12,4-liter Man engine, an engine that makes its maximum torque available between 1.100rpm and 1.500rpm. This set makes the Fendt 1000 Vario a high-power, efficient and versatile tractor, which always operates with the highest available power at the lowest possible speed.
The Fendt 1000 Vario line also features the smallest turning radius on the market, 1,5m smaller than that found in other machines on sale in Brazil. An important difference that improves the tractor's agility in the field. Combining the Man engine with the Vario Drive transmission, the Fendt 1000 Vario tractors are the intelligent solution for different power needs in the most varied operations: soil preparation, planting, grain or sugarcane transshipment.

MOTOR
The 1000 Vario series tractors are equipped with a new engine concept, the Fendt ID. This technology is based on a concept of low engine speed even during heavy work.
Its exclusive Man 12,4L engine has torque and power curves never before seen on the market, with a maximum torque of 2.400Nm (1050 Vario) available from 1.100rpm and constant up to 1.500rpm, with this last engine rotation being the delivery of maximum and constant power up to 1.700rpm. Combined with the high torque and power available at low speeds, an electronic system makes the speed variable and as low as possible to guarantee maximum performance and minimum fuel consumption.

CAS COOLING SYSTEM
The engine is cooled using a set of radiators and a fan using the Concentric Air System (CAS). A high-performance fan, located in front of the cooling unit, sucks in cold, dense air, accelerates it concentrically over the hood and presses it through the radiator. The CAS has its own hydrostatic drive, so it can always provide optimal cooling power to each component as needed, regardless of engine speed. The fan is tilted upwards, which prevents crop residue from being sucked up from the ground.

STREAMING
Another solution found by Fendt engineering was the adoption of a continuously variable transmission (CVT), VarioDrive, which operates on the front and rear axles independently and has a working speed range between 0,02 and 40 km/h without no changing groups or gears, covering all speed needs of available implements. The Vario Drive transmission is an evolution of the Vario transmission, which was launched in 1997 and awarded several times in Europe. This transmission has already reached the impressive number of 250 thousand transmissions sold.

FENDT TORQUE DISTRIBUTION
Vario Drive is the first transmission that drives both axles independently, resulting in a unique torque and power distribution on the market. However, the best part is the possibility of connection between the axles when necessary, that is, the axles work independently, but if the front axle wheels start to slip, a clutch connects to the rear axle and transmits all its force. hydraulics to it and vice versa, most importantly, without operator intervention.
This system guarantees the maximum possible performance in the field, increasing operational yield by up to 20%, according to the results of tests carried out in soil preparation with a 19-rod subsoiler in the MT region.

PULL IN TURN EFFECT
As the axles have independent hydraulic motors, a mechanical effect decreases the tractor's turning radius. It is the Pull in turneffect, which is the effect of pulling inward during maneuvers. When the steering wheel is turned, the resistance in the front hydraulic motor is lower, increasing its oil flow and, consequently, the axis speed, reducing its turning radius. This effect, known as Pull in turneffect, reduces the turning radius in the field by up to 10% and minimizes normal wear on the front tires caused by curves on firm ground.

HYDRAULIC SYSTEM
The Fendt 1000 Vario is prepared for all applications, as it has a modular hydraulic system for all coupling sizes. Combined with the ease of coupling, there is a varied option of flow rates available, 165L/min, 220L/min and the system for the most demanding requirements of 430L/min, equipped with two independent pumps, one with 210L/min and the other with 220L/min in separate circuits. This makes it possible to independently connect the pressure and flow demands of the implement. A classic example is pneumatic planters, where it is possible to connect the vacuum turbine system separately from the drive pistons. To reduce maintenance costs, the transmission hydraulic reservoir is separate from the control reservoir.

HYDRAULIC LIFT
Due to the versatility concept of Fendt 1000 Vario tractors, configuration with front and rear hydraulic lifts is possible. Both systems are fully integrated, configured by the monitor and externally activated for quick attachment of implements.
Electronic monitoring and action systems guarantee stable operation, keeping the implement in the desired position without the need for operator intervention. With lifting capacities of 12.920kg at the rear and 4.000kg at the front, it is the most versatile tractor in the 500hp range on the market.

FENDT LIFE CAB
The combination of state-of-the-art controls and comfort is in the Fendt Life Cab, which impresses even at first glance, as it combines quality materials, layout and tried and tested practicality of all elements. Space and visibility are improved by a series of details, which promise to transform the operator's daily routine.
The cab design provides wide visibility. Roof-integrated blinds on the front, rear and right windows offer sun protection and are moved into place with a manual movement. To maintain visibility even on rainy days, the cab has a 300° wiper forward and a 220° wiper on the right side.
The concept of comfort is transformed with this cabin, cushioned by up to four air pockets, which absorb all impacts, making it possible to always keep the tractor at maximum performance, regardless of the difficulty of operation.

VARIOGUIDE
Varioguide is the Fendt guidance system, which allows you to choose between two reception systems, the Novatel system or the Trimble. Both are capable of working with autonomous, decimeter or RTK correction. Also available are the RTX fix for the Trimble receiver and the Terra Star C for the Novatel receiver.
Another new feature in this system is the contour assistant that allows you to create borders according to ideal lines.

VARIOTRONIC IT
The Fendt 1000 Vario line tractors are equipped with advanced systems to assist the producer in daily challenges. The headland maneuver assistance system makes it possible to configure field entry and exit sequences and execute them as soon as the tractor approaches the border. This brings the benefits of saving time during maneuvers and a low risk of damage to implements, as operations are always carried out in the correct sequence and at the correct intervals.
Integrated into the Vario Tronic technology package are the variable rate and shutdown sections that enable these controls for Isobus implements.

FENDT CONNECT
The solution for monitoring technology and telemetry is Fendt Connect. You can use the Fendt Connect website and App (for iOS and Android) to see the fuel consumption, speed and working time of each machine in real time. A map view also shows the vehicle's position, the machine's driving directions and its working status. 500hp with Vario Drive is the intelligent solution for different power needs in the most varied operations: soil preparation, planting, transshipment of grains or sugarcane.
