A trade agreement with the USA appears on the radar
Agriculture summary in July and the five points selected for August
Valtra's new series of fruit tractors, A3F, hits the market with four models from 69hp to 99hp, offering several transmission options, including the possibility of reversers, and an original factory cabin.
Some cultures may have very specific machine and implement needs. Coffee, vegetables, oranges and citrus in general require smaller tractors due to the density of the antlers and the restricted space for operation. Betting on a market that, despite working with smaller machines, increasingly demands more comfort and technology, Valtra has renewed its old line of fruit tractors and brings new features for producers of these crops.
The series has four models: A63F, A73F, A83F and A93F with maximum powers of 69hp, 79hp, 89hp and 99hp, respectively. The machines were already equipped with three-cylinder AGCO Power engines, however, they now feature the brand's new generation of electronic engines. All models are offered in platform and cab versions, the latter being a new addition to the line.
The brand follows its strategy of including electronic engines for low-power tractors, complying with the new phase of the Proconve MAR-1 standard, which came into force at the beginning of this year. The implementation of technology in the segment is unprecedented in Brazil, although it is common in traditional European tractors, where emissions regulation standards are even more advanced. To comply with the standard, the engine features the iEGR gas recirculation system.
The AGCO Power 33 CWC3 engines, with three cylinders and intercooled turbo, guarantee outputs from 69hp to 99hp, the latter model being the one with the highest power in the fruit category. A machine with this power allows the use of the largest implements intended for these crops and even in more severe conditions.
In other articles, the benefits of the new AGCO Power engines have already been explored, among the main ones are the optimization of fuel injection; the optimization of injection pressure even at low speeds; safe mode and error codes telling you where the problem is. All these features make it possible to work at lower speeds, making the engine more economical and with faster responses, increasing efficiency and operational performance.
The crops destined for fruit tractors have very complex treatments and work, requiring versatile transmissions and gear scaling to meet different work ranges than those usual in agricultural tractors. At low speeds, with the use of a reducer, operations such as pruning and bedding are carried out. From 6km/h to 12km/h, spraying and transport of goods are carried out. To meet the farmer's most diverse needs, the A3F line has four transmission options and a reducer option for one of them.
The basic transmission has 8 forward and 4 reverse speeds, fully synchronized. The transmission with speed reducer has 12 forward and 8 reverse speeds, starting in the reduced range at 0,45km/h, ideal for harvesting, pruning, collecting and crushing operations. With this transmission, with terrain with favorable topography it is possible to carry out spraying and other operations that require higher speeds.
Another option, in addition to the standard reducer and transmission, is the choice of multiplier, this configuration doubles the number of speeds, offering 16 forward and 8 reverse gear options. Opting for this configuration makes the transmission have perfect scaling, where each possible speed can be reached by at least two gears, and, in some cases, by up to 4 different gears. This availability offers several options for the operator to find the gear that best suits him, making it a versatile and economical machine, especially in spraying operations.
And finally, a very versatile option that is increasingly present in the category is the transmission with mechanical reverser. With 12 forward and 12 reverse speeds, the scaling was designed to maintain high speed availability, both at low and high speeds. In addition to good scaling, the transmission with reverser makes operation more agile and easier, becoming an excellent differentiator.
One of the great highlights of the A3F Series is the excellent turning radius, in the new generation it is possible, during operation in orchards, to leave one street and enter the next one, increasing productivity and reducing the number of maneuvers.
The hydraulic system of the A3F series deserves to be highlighted for its flow capacity and lifting capacity. In versions with a flow rate of 42L/min, the tractor can be equipped with two or three remote control valves. The high-flow option, with 55L/min, is equipped with three bodies, one of which is intended for continuous flow with electro-hydraulic drive and flow adjustment, a standard feature, recommended for operations where the implements have hydraulic motors. These settings allow the tractor to operate with any implement in the category. The hydraulic lift, with a capacity of 3.135kgf at the eye, stands out for being the largest in its category, with excellent geometry.
The series has two speed options: 540rpm and 540/540Economic rpm, depending on the model version. Equipped with a six-spline shaft, the activation is done electromechanically from the operating station, through a lever located on the machine panel for the platform version. The cabin version has an electro-hydraulic drive.
The operator environment is another point of great importance in the new line. With a completely flat and spacious platform, steps allowing easy access and controls ergonomically arranged around the operator, within the segment the A3F series provides a high level of comfort, despite being a compact tractor. Another difference is the position of the transmission levers located on the side, which offer greater comfort and ease when changing gears.
The factory cab version is a new addition to the line, when compared to the old line. Valtra cabins are recognized for their high standard of design, ergonomics and finishing, and the A3F series follows the Finnish design tradition, with Brazilian solutions focused on the segment. With a modern and spacious design, the cabin offers the greatest comfort in its category. The large glass area, due to the narrow pillars, allows perfect visualization of the crop and application.
All versions, platform and cab, feature tilting adjustment of the steering column, increasing the space for entering and exiting the operator's environment and allowing a more ergonomic adjustment, according to the operator's preference, with a USB port and object holder. The operation panel has also been renewed to the standard of the new lines. There is a new display, informing engine speed, hour meter, engine error codes and instantaneous consumption. Several tools that enable greater management for the operator.
