Currently, national agriculture has faced water deficit conditions during harvest seasons more frequently, whether summer or winter.

Faced with this scenario, technicians specialized in the area recommend intensifying investment in the construction of the soil profile, especially in regions more susceptible to so-called “summer weather”, or in those where the volume of rain ceases earlier, or even, in cases of planting crops. before the ideal sowing time, a period in which there is irregular rainfall.

How can agricultural gypsum bring greater security to the harvest?

The use of agricultural gypsum promotes the correction of the chemical properties of the soil that limit the development of the root system in the deeper layers.

In this way, its application, according to technical criteria, promotes the growth in volume and depth of crop roots, causing the plant to absorb more water and nutrients necessary for its development and production.

This contributes to reducing the water stress of plants, minimizing climate risks during harvests, as there is better use of the water available in the soil, when there is a greater volume of roots exploring the soil profile.

This is why we say today that gypsum represents important insurance against drought!

And how does plaster work?

Providing mobile calcium (Ca) in the form of sulfate, which, unlike the calcium contained in limestone, moves to deeper layers, making this nutrient available throughout the soil profile for better absorption and root growth.

In addition to calcium, agricultural gypsum contains sulfur, an essential nutrient required in large quantities by crops for plant development and the formation of grains, fruits, stalks, leaves and tubers.

And, it efficiently reduces the activity of toxic aluminum in deeper layers of the soil (subsurface), favoring the growth and development of the plants' root system in length and distribution in the profile.
