In recent years, Turkey has established itself as one of the emerging centers for agricultural machinery production in its region. Thanks to its solid industrial infrastructure, engineering expertise, and strategic location between Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, Turkish manufacturers offer competitive solutions in both technology and cost to farmers in various parts of the world.
Currently, more than a thousand manufacturers operate in the agricultural machinery and equipment sector in Turkey, generating approximately 23 direct jobs. Turkish companies produce more than 130 different types of agricultural machinery and equipment, including seeders, fertilizer spreaders, tillage implements, harvesting machines, and various solutions for agricultural properties.
Exports from the sector are also showing consistent growth. Agricultural machinery produced in Turkey is currently exported to more than 130 countries, and the value of exports from the sector has already exceeded $800 million in recent years. This performance positions the agricultural machinery industry as one of the most dynamic segments within the country's machinery industry.
Tractor production is another important indicator of Turkey's level of agricultural mechanization. Approximately 60 to 65 tractors are sold annually in the Turkish market, with about 35% of production destined for export, reflecting the growing international presence of the country's manufacturers.
Within this industrial ecosystem, the city of Konya occupies a prominent position. With extensive agricultural areas and a strong industrial base, Konya is considered one of Turkey's main centers for the production of agricultural machinery.
The city is home to hundreds of manufacturers of agricultural machinery and implements, which has allowed the formation of an important industrial hub specializing in the sector. Furthermore, its proximity to one of the largest agricultural regions in the country facilitates constant contact between manufacturers and farmers, contributing to the development of machines adapted to the real needs of the field.
This industrial dynamism is reflected every year at the Konya Agricultural Fair, one of the most important events in the sector in Europe and Eurasia.
The fair is held annually and brings together manufacturers, distributors, farmers and professionals from the agricultural sector from various countries. The next edition will take place from April 7th to 11th, 2026 at the Konya International Fair Centre, where a wide variety of agricultural machinery, technologies and solutions for modern agriculture will be presented.
In addition to being an important technological showcase, the event has become a strategic platform for establishing new business partnerships and exploring opportunities for international cooperation. In recent years, there has been a growing interest from visitors coming from Africa, Central Asia, and Latin America.
Latin America represents an increasingly important market for Turkish agricultural machinery manufacturers. With large agricultural areas and a growing demand for mechanization, the region offers significant opportunities for efficient and cost-effective technological solutions.
Turkish manufacturers are particularly known for producing robust, durable, and affordable machinery for small and medium-sized farmers.
An example of this approach is the Konya-based company Anıl Yatağanlı Tarım Makinaları, which has been producing agricultural machinery since 1980. The company has focused for over four decades on developing durable, long-lasting, and affordable equipment for farmers.
According to Burhanettin Yalçın, head of the company's Latin American market, Turkish manufacturers are paying increasing attention to this region.
“Our company has been producing agricultural machinery for over 40 years. It’s a family business, and the third generation continues production today. It’s a well-known brand in Turkey and neighboring countries. However, Latin America is still a relatively new market for us,” explains Yalçın.
The representative states that the company has begun developing a specific strategy for the region, including the formation of sales teams capable of communicating directly with Spanish-speaking distributors and farmers.
“The Konya Agricultural Fair is a very important opportunity to establish direct contact with international visitors. For us, it is an ideal platform to meet professionals from the sector coming from Latin America and explore possible long-term partnerships,” he says.
With its growing industrial capacity, the strong production ecosystem in cities like Konya, and the role of international events such as the Konya Agricultural Fair, Turkish manufacturers are expected to continue strengthening their presence in the global agricultural machinery market in the coming years.
