The advantages of technology in agribusiness are numerous, increasing the demand from producers across the country for new solutions. Brazilian agribusiness is one of the pioneers in the use of new technologies. Data from the Executive Secretariat of the Brazilian Precision Agriculture Commission (CBAP) shows that 67% of agricultural properties in the country use some form of technology, whether in the area of business management or in cultivation and harvesting activities.

Equipment connected to each other via the Internet of Things (IoT) is helping to monitor individual crops, more effectively analyze soil acidity and identify nutrient needs, for example. Research is also very important, helping to develop plantations and obtain quality grains.

In this context, understanding the functions and investing in analysis of plant vital signs is essential for all farmers seeking excellence in their crops. Understanding the needs of each crop is quite a challenge, but this should be, first and foremost, the premise of those who work in the field and seek to increase their profitability by offering quality products.

During the second edition of our event, the I-Fast Intech Conference, I had the opportunity to talk and exchange experiences with more than 40 consultants, represented by approximately 2,5 million hectares across Brazil, about how to increase the nutritional potential of plants combined with technologies present in the field. Among the points we cover, we can highlight the importance of biological control within crops. Another issue that was also very much observed together with Fast Agro's Development Manager, Antônio Jorge, is the integration with agronomic consultancy companies where knowledge and innovative solutions were considered in several aspects. This, in fact, has always been our purpose.

Market projections point to a positive and growing scenario in the use of biodefensive products for integrated pest management, with prospects for this to double or even triple in the next 10 years on a global scale. This is because professionals are beginning to understand its importance and benefits in the medium and long term.

Agriculture 4.0 is another very recurring theme. The concept involves all stages of production, from training the people involved to the use of tools that allow all segments of the agricultural production chain to work in an integrated manner.

Today, we can monitor kilometers of hectares through smartphones, tablets and computers, with plantation control applications, automated machinery, input management systems. We have a multitude of tools in the palm of our hands.

Ultimately, it is a true rural transformation network. I am sure that, in the coming years, we will have even more innovations. It's worth following!
