How the application of Ultra Root via furrows can contribute to building a strong and sustainable base for high agricultural productivity.


Ultra Root is a new formulation with multiple functions and maximum efficiency, being a state-of-the-art biodegradable systemic nutritional complex, developed with high quality raw materials, with the aim of complementing the nutritional needs of crops. Its properties are related to balanced nutrition, better development and greater rooting of plants. It plays an extremely important role in the metabolism of species and positively impacts processes related to crop yield components. It has high solubility, is easily absorbed due to the immediate supply of nutrients, translocated and metabolized by plants, in addition to showing excellent physical-chemical compatibility with other products, such as pesticides and biologicals. Scientific information in the literature and products available for application via sowing furrow or planting with Ultra Root profiles are scarce. In this context, Spraytec developed Ultra Root, an unprecedented and differentiated product on the market. In addition to complementing basic fertilizer by providing essential elements, it ensures productive potential and maximizes crop productivity. The nutrients applied in base fertilizer undergo a series of reactions, as well as the influence of several factors, which reduce their bioavailability to plant roots. These facts are mainly responsible for the success of supplementation through furrow treatment, especially if supplied at critical moments, that is, in periods of greatest demand for plants, such as in the initial growth phase, where the elements are poorly available.

A complex mixture of compounds of different biochemical nature for furrow or foliar application, Ultra Root is an innovative product that, in addition to the traditional cobalt and molybdenum, essential for biological nitrogen fixation, contains soluble macro and micronutrients with protected loads, being an important ally of the producer in the implementation and good initial establishment of crops. Depending on management, as an option, Ultra Root can be accompanied by microorganisms for inoculation and coinoculation. In addition to annual inoculation with Bradyrhizobium, the joint use of a second bacteria for inoculation, in a process called coinoculation, is currently used. This bacterium, belonging to the genus azospirillum, was already recommended for grasses. Unlike the Bradyrhizobium,  azospirillum synthesizes phytohormones that promote plant growth, mainly of the root system, which favors nodulation and biological fixation carried out by the Bradyrhizobium, in addition to bringing other benefits, such as expanding the volume of soil explored. In soybean, plants coinoculated with Bradyrhizobium azospirillum present a more abundant and earlier nodulation, with an average productivity gain of 16,1%, which is double that provided by annual inoculation with just Bradyrhizobium. In beans, coinoculation represents a 19,6% increase in yield, higher than conventional inoculation, with an 8,3% increase. In addition to the benefits of inoculants, treatment with Ultra Root as a fertilizer has a synergistic effect on root development. It is a promising alternative because the larger the root system, the greater the volume of soil explored, the greater the start-up and initial establishment of plants, increasing the absorption of water and nutrients, with greater accumulation of proteins, sugars and lipids, which favors the relationship source-sink and positively impacts grain quality. The greater initial start-up is attributed to the elongation of the main root and the increase in the number of secondary roots, radicelles and absorbent hairs. As a result, plants are better able to withstand drought, cold and dry spells, increase the absorption of water and nutrients in hitherto unexplored soil layers, increasing productivity and improving the quality of the harvest.

The immediate availability of essential elements due to the high solubility of Ultra Root acts to stimulate the growth of the root system, aerial part, flowering and fruiting, and also to detoxify and accelerate plant metabolism. It has a characteristic stimulatory effect on the germination and seedling emergence process, as it activates the growth of the embryo, the mobilization of endosperm reserves and acts to weaken the endosperm layer, favoring its growth. With a more developed root system, excessive transpiration is reduced and water stress on the leaves is avoided. This stimulates photosynthesis and increases the chlorophyll content, increasing the supply of carbohydrates, the supply of material for the cell wall and root activity. Better germination, maintenance of vigor and resistance to stress are associated with more intense enzymatic activity in the germination process. In short, Ultra Root increases enzymatic activity and allows maximum expression of the plants' genetic potential. This effect of the product occurs due to direct action on the physiological processes of plants, such as the synthesis of antioxidant enzymes and neutralization of free radicals, promoting tolerance to abiotic stresses. Regarding the climate, accelerating the plant's metabolism causes it to accumulate more carbohydrates and less water to freeze, that is, the plants become more active and this reduces frost damage. When the plant goes through adverse critical moments, the production of reactive oxygen species, such as hydrogen peroxide, and free radicals such as superoxide occurs. These substances cause oxidative damage by altering the metabolic activity of plants such as protein denaturation, destruction of membranes, chloroplasts and mitochondria, reducing photosynthesis and respiration. In this way, physiological changes occur leading to less absorption of water and nutrients, synthesis of hormones and less resistance to pathogens. Ultra Root removes, neutralizes and cleans these reactive oxygen species by activating the synthesis of antioxidant enzymes such as superoxide dismutase, catalase and chitinase, among others, increasing the plants' natural defense. This stimulus on natural resistance is attributed to the indirect effect of Ultra Root and was scientifically proven by the State University of Maringá, where applied via the sowing furrow it reduced the number of nematodes per gram of roots by 82% and increased the mass of the nematode by 33%. root system in soybean crops.
