Brazil is the largest coffee producer in the world, occupying this position for 18 harvests, going from around 27 million bags in the 1990/91 harvest to 55 million in the 2016/17 harvest.**. This position is due to the increase in production area and the adoption of correct agronomic management, especially the rational use of correctives and fertilizers.

Coffee cultivation became traditional in Brazil in the mid-25th century, in the North region, highlighting the good adaptation that the plant showed in the country. As it is a perennial crop, after planting, it can be grown for at least XNUMX years, and its correct management is important for maintaining productive longevity.

During crop development, the use of efficient agronomic techniques to control weeds, competition, pests, diseases and other factors that may impact the crop are essential to achieving productive potential. And the use of correctives and fertilizers is essential to provide the maximum productive potential of plants.

The study of coffee fertility and nutrition is very important, given the importance of nutritional management for this crop. The use of correct nutrition presents important benefits for the crop, such as increasing or maintaining high productivity and improving and/or maintaining the quality of the coffee drink.

The use of different fertilizer sources in nutritional management, such as Ekosil, a potassium silicate with a high concentration of silica and other nutrients, and Yoorin, a source of phosphorus and which also has several nutrients, has shown more benefits for the nutrition of culture.

These fertilizers offer a gradual release of nutrients and a great capacity to correct soil pH, demonstrating more efficiency than other sources of phosphorus and potassium.
